
ADULT EDUCATION ADMISSIONS
ADMISSIONS GUIDELINES
Students enrolling at Goliath Academy must provide the following.
A complete student file from previously enrolled institution to include:
Students full legal name
Legal names of parents or guardians
Authenticated birth certificate
IF 15 AND OLDER MUST PROVIDE VALID STATE IDENTIFICATION
Attendance records (including number of days present and absent)
Date enrolled and date withdrawn from transferring institution
Enrollment
Goliath Academy will establish the student eligibility requirements (i.e. grade level, course selection, enrollment status).
The academic calendar of the teacher/online instructor and students who enroll in the class should be established prior to enrollment. The school counselor must be involved in the coordination of the scheduling process to ensure that proper documentation is established for credit acceptance and to verify that the student does not exceed the guidelines established by the state for purposes of pupil accounting.
If a student wishes to take an Online course in addition to a full schedule of classes, it will be at the discretion and approval of the school to accept and fund the credits for such a course.
ADD/DROP POLICY
A $25.00 late fee will be added to any account not paid by the 5th of the month.
A $29.50 charge will be added for any amounts returned by the bank.
Students will be suspended from class if an account is 60 days past due.
ACADEMIC GUIDELINES
Appropriate Behavior and Use of Technology:
All students participating in Online courses are expected to conduct their communications in a professional and respectful manner. The use of proper Internet etiquette is expected at all times. In appropriate language or behavior will result in disciplinary action and possible termination from the course.
Virtual Online courses will be listed on the student's master schedule.
The grade assigned will be part of the student's permanent record and will be included in the cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).
Technology Access:
It is the responsibility of the student working outside the local school setting to have access to equipment that meets the minimum requirements as specified in the virtual/Online course description. At the discretion of the school a computer may be provided to do some of the Online coursework at the high school location, in addition to independent work outside of the regular school day/week.
Student Facilitator:
An outside facilitator (certifies teacher or substitute teacher) will be assigned according to current guidelines and policy.
